As a child, Mother Nature was my closest friend, teacher and constant source of fascination. As people live in their human-made world, many have lost the ability to see or feel the natural world around them. Nature Child explores the human-nature relationship and our inseparable link to the natural world. It serves as a reminder that all humans are a part of nature, no matter how hard they try to control or separate themselves from it.
This mixed media, found object child mannequin assemblage has bark-like skin and branches for arms. (dimensions - 60” x 40” x 40”)
Celebrating the beginning of Spring, this assemblage piece is budding with color and awakened fertility.
The carved and painted mannequin legs have a sapling growing out of its abdomen, and muddy calves and feet that suggest a recent stroll through a nearby wetland area. Mixed media/found object assemblage (dimensions - 90” x 13” x 40”)
Human bodies are comprised of the same minerals and elements as the earth, all living things and the processes that shape and affect them. This found object assemblage has natural elements "growing" from cracks and recessed areas of a weathered antique dress form. Dimensions (72" x 36" x 36")
